How GOLDU Packs and Ships Gold and Silver
When buying physical gold or silver, you are not only choosing a product but also thinking about how safely it will reach your home. The parcel must not reveal its contents, it must be insured and it must be handled with care from packing to handover to the carrier. This article gives you a complete overview – which carrier we use, what limits apply depending on the order value, how we pack and secure the parcel and how to track it from posting to delivery. The full wording can be found in the Delivery and payment terms.
Discreet packaging with no indication of contents
Every parcel is sent in discreet packaging with no indication of its contents – nothing on the outer packaging suggests that it contains investment gold or silver. The aim is to minimise risk already during transport, when the parcel passes through several hands before it reaches you.
Security under camera surveillance
Packing follows internal security procedures designed to protect the contents and minimise risk. Every parcel is carefully packed and dispatched under constant camera surveillance – from packing to handover to the carrier, the process is documented.
Which carrier we use
Goods worth up to CZK 1,000,000 are sent as a tracked valuable parcel via Czech Post, either as a “Do ruky” parcel (delivered to your address) or a “Na poštu” parcel (collected at a branch). For parcels worth up to CZK 17,000 you can also choose delivery via Zásilkovna to a pick-up point of your choice – near your home or work, usually also outside normal post office hours. If you prefer an even more discreet collection without delivery to your address, POSTE RESTANTE can be used after prior approval – the parcel then waits at the chosen post office for personal collection. We dispatch orders no later than the next business day once the conditions are met (payment, order confirmation, availability of goods).
Limit for home delivery and storage at a branch
Czech Post can carry parcels worth up to CZK 1,000,000. If the value of the goods exceeds CZK 150,000, Czech Post does not deliver the parcel to the recipient’s home but only holds it for collection at its branch. This practice follows Czech Post’s internal rules, which unfortunately we cannot influence – for higher values, please plan in advance to collect the parcel at the post office.
Posting and tracking
After packing, we hand the order over for dispatch at a Czech Post branch (posting the parcel). The parcel then receives a tracking number that lets you follow it from posting to delivery. As soon as the parcel has been posted, we email you a dispatch confirmation with this tracking number. You can check its current status at any time on Czech Post’s Track & Trace page.
Personal collection in Prague
If you would rather skip transport altogether, we also offer personal collection at our registered office in Prague 4, by prior arrangement by email or phone. This option is particularly suitable for larger purchases; cash payments on site can be accepted up to CZK 270,000.
Free authenticity check in Prague
Personal collection has another advantage – customers can have their gold or silver checked free of charge with the professional Sigma Metalytics PMV PRO device. The test is non-destructive, done on the spot and works even through the original packaging. Just get in touch briefly in advance at info@goldu.eu or +420 601 359 200. You can read more about how the test works in the article Gold and silver testing with Sigma Metalytics PMV PRO.
Parcel insurance
Parcels are insured for their value in accordance with the chosen carrier’s terms – the amount of insurance and liability for damage are governed by the terms of the chosen transport provider.
